探究高中英语词汇的学习策略

探究高中英语词汇的学习策略 安娜 (乌鲁木齐市八一中学 新疆 乌鲁木齐830000) 词汇是语言的基石,因此它语言学习中发挥着至关重要 的作用。然而在高中词汇学习和教学过程中存在着各种各样 的问题,这些问题使得词汇学习效果不那么另人满意。这其 中最主要问题是老师介绍给学生的词汇学习策略以及学生 自己使用的词汇学习策略效果不好。因此本篇论文将主要致 力于一些有效的词汇策略的研究,包括视觉教具,定义,相 关词,语境以及交际教学策略。

基于之前的研究和教授学生记忆词汇的理论框之下,我 对一个试验对象实施了一次词汇教学与学习的试验,希望通 过这次试验来检验上面提到的词汇学习策略对提高词汇所 产生的作用并且对比传统词汇学习策略,如我的学生正在使 用的这种机械记忆法,与我上面提到的词汇学习策略的效果。

试验历时7周。其中,第一周对试验对象进行前期测试,测 试内容是从试验对象的教科书上随机选出的200个单词。在 接下来的5周内,我从前期测试的单词中选择了105个单词并 把他们分为5组,每次辅导课处理一组单词。在每次辅导之 前,我都把要学的单词提前一天给我的学生并且要求他用他 自己的方法来学习记忆这些单词。然后我会用上面提到的词 汇学习策略来教学生学习这些单词。对于每组单词,我都会 通过两次小考来检测他的方法的效果和我介绍的策略的效果。到最后一周,对他进行后期测试,测试的单词和前期测 试中的完全一样。最后前期测试,后期测试以及所有小考的 结果都记录在案,用于分析本文介绍的词汇学习策略的效果。

通过数据分析,主要发现:与机械记忆相比,上面介绍 的词汇学习策略是学生记住了较多的单词。试验结果表明, 使用本文介绍的词汇学习策略,学生在词汇学习方面取得了 更大的进步。

学生吸收消化这些策略,并将一部分策略转化为他自己 的词汇学习策略。

By introducing sometypes of Guinness World Records and the process of applyingfor them, I can lead to the study of all the new words. A. Presentation a Present the meaning of vocabulary (1) As for the words " moustache, tightrope, gorge,beard, cheetah, sailfish, voyager", I use pictures downloadfrom internet to explain their meanings. ( 2) For "hght, length, hectare" , I put them into examplesentences which are very clear and let the student guess theirmeanings. I can not get the cork(瓶塞) out of the bottle. It is tootight. The longest beard has alength of l.6 m.Tian An Men square is the largest one in the world, and ithas an area of 40 hectare. ( Here, the student may not guessthe exact meaning of "hectare", but he can know it is a unit ofarea. ) (3) For "in the first place, confirm, attempt, suitable,apply for, approve, inspect, certificate", I put them into aparagraph stating the process of applying for Guinness WorldRecord. In order to explain this process, all the words will beused. When he understand the process, he also knows themeanings of these words and memorise them in order. b.Present each word comprehensively and further, inclu-ding its English and Chinese definition, part of speech, relatedwords, word - formation method and usage. "beard" means hair growing on the chain, while "mous-tache" means hair growing on the upper lip. We can memorise"beard" as an "ear" between "b" and "d". "sailfish" and "tightrope "are compounds and they areformed by the combination of two words. "length "is the noun form of adj "long". "voyager" is the person who voyages and suffix " - er"added to verbs indicates person who does thataction "suitable" is an adj and suffix" - able" means "can".Therefore "suitable" means "that can suit" "tight" is very similar to "light, right" in spelling andthey share the same part "ight" "certificate" means "证书" and we can say "birth certifi-cate, mamage certificate, death certificate" "confirm" is formed by affixation. Suffix "con - "means"together" and stem "firm" means "fairly hard". Therefore,we can know the meaning of "confirm" "attempt" is often followed by prep "to" and " is "ap-prove" is foIJowed by "or´
B. How doyou find it?" e.Cloze test: I gjve the student a short paragraph aboutthe process of Beijing´applying for Olympic Games.
